| Adopt
a Prison |
 |
|
Individuals,
groups, or churches can adopt a prison and partner with the
chaplain in an effort to address the needs of their prison.
Some of the ongoing needs include hygiene for indigent inmates, large
print Bibles, Christmas bags, mentoring, interview training,
and Bible study leaders.

Gift Bags & Indigent Care Packages |
 |
| Sometimes
the best way to touch inmates' hearts is through meeting their
physical needs. Churches and individuals can donate hygiene items
(soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner)
for indigent inmates who desperately need these items but cannot
afford them. Holiday gift bags containing hygiene items, stationery,
Christian literature, and snacks are distributed during the Easter
and Christmas holidays. |

| Prison
Card Ministry |
 |
| Being in
prison can be a very lonely and isolating experience. Many of
those who are incarcerated are abandoned by their family and friends,
and simply viewed by society as "cast-offs." Through
our prison card ministry, handmade or handwritten cards are collected
and distributed to inmates; card senders remain anonymous. This
is a great project for children's ministries, youth groups, VBS
and senior citizen groups. |

Your Support |
 |
Despite studies which
prove that faith-based initiatives such as chaplaincy have the
strongest capacity for positively impacting inmate behavior
and reducing return-to-prison rates, prison chaplains in Georgia
face huge difficulties with very limited resources.
You can voice your
support for the restoration of full-time chaplains in our state
prisons by contacting your state representative. For a complete list of all Georgia officials, log on to www.georgia.gov.
Show
your support through the purchase and display of our t-shirt.
