Beth has lived in Atlanta over 50 years. After graduating from the University of Virginia, she returned to Atlanta to pursue a commercial banking career with Suntrust. Beth then shifted into full time motherhood and has been passionately involved in both women’s Bible studies and Young Life for 30 years. Beth and Bobby are active with Passion City Church. They are blessed with 3 adult sons and 2 daughters in law.
Stephen D. Peterson
Stephen D. Peterson is a partner with McGuireWoods LLP, where is a member of the Real Estate & Land Use practice group. Steve is a graduate of King University and the Emory University School of Law.
Steve has served as a teacher in various capacities at the Church of the Apostles for nearly 20 years, and recently published, “How to Become a For Real Christian,” a study of the book of James. Steve has been a board member with Heartbound since 2006. Steve is married to Toria Peterson, who works as the family resource coordinator for Kidz2Leaders, a ministry devoted to serving the children of incarcerated parents. Steve and Toria have four children and live in East Cobb.
James Johnson Jr. is a native Georgian. James received his Bachelor’s Degree from St. Leo University. He received his Master’s Degree in Post Secondary Higher Education Administration at Troy University. James is a retired United States Army Sergeant Major of more than 22 years of active duty. While serving his country James received numerous awards and decorations and a graduate of several military leadership courses. James is very active in the community in which he lives. James has also consulted and a presenter for numerous organizations and groups such as colleges, public schools, military, churches, Georgia Department of Corrections, business and industry. He is an active member of Springfield Baptist Church, Conyers, GA. Outside of James busy activities, he takes pleasure in being with the love of his life, his wife Kim; they have two adult sons, James III and Jeffrey. Kim and James have six grandchildren.
Lara was born and raised in Atlanta GA. She graduated from Vanderbilt University with her BSN in 1983. After working for two years as an RN, Lara returned to Georgia State University for her MSN and was certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 1987. In the early 2000’s, Lara stepped away from her nursing career in Atlanta to full time motherhood. The Woods family began working with World Medical Mission serving in rural hospitals in Kenya, Zambia and Ethiopia, and continue with this work today. Lara has also volunteered in women’s bible studies, Moms-In-Prayer, and Young Life Ministry. Currently, Lara is enrolled at Dallas Theological Seminary working towards a Master of Biblical and Theological Studies. Lara and Joe have been married for over thirty years and are active with Passion City Church. They are blessed with two daughters and a son.
Robin Boggs is the Director, US Corporate Citizenship, for Accenture, a leading global professional services company. In this role, Robin is responsible for outcomes from the company’s signature community investment programs, via a portfolio of pro bono projects and cash grants. She's been active many local community initiatives during her Accenture career and spent a year on pro bono projects for the Homeless Prenatal Program in San Francisco and Points of Light in Atlanta. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, History and Drama from Queens University of Charlotte and a Master’s degree in Shakespeare Studies from the University of Birmingham (England), which she earned during a year as a Rotary Foundation Scholar. Outside of work, she serves as a board member of Heartbound Ministries in her home town of Atlanta, Georgia.
Darcy Harper grew up in Oak Ridge, Tennessee and graduated from the University of Tennessee – Knoxville with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Masters of Accountancy. Darcy is a Certified Public Accountant in Georgia and worked for Ernst &Young in their Tax practice in Atlanta for three years and then with The Coca-Cola Company in the Finance Department for five years. After taking a break from the work world for several years to stay at home with her children, Darcy returned to the work place as a part-time accountant with Ambassadors for Christ, Int’l. – USA, and also with Windham Brannon accounting firm. She met her husband of 25 years, Jimmy, in Atlanta and they have three children. Darcy and Jimmy attend Passion City Church and enjoy serving with HeartBound Ministries, Tres Dias of North Georgia, YoungLife, Passion Conference prayer team, among others.
